Event Overview
Red Dirt Shooting Sports youth will be competing at the Oklahoma 4-H State Air Rifle and Air Pistol Contest hosted by Oklahoma State University Extension. This premier state-level competition brings together the best young shooters from across Oklahoma to compete for state championship titles in air rifle and air pistol.

How to Register

Registration Requirements
- Be enrolled in 4-H for at least 30 days
- Complete minimum of 8 hours of instruction
- Possess valid Hunter's Safety Certification card
- Demonstrate safe handling and transportation of firearm and equipment
- Have attending 4-H Certified Coach signature on registration form
- Ages determined using member's age BEFORE August 1, 2025

Air Rifle competition features three age divisions with both individual and team categories:

- Team Size: 3-4 members per team
- Team Eligibility: All team members must be in the same age division
- Team Scoring: Top 3 scores count toward team total
- Individual Scoring: Each participant's score counts as individual placement

â Who can participate?
All 4-H members ages 9-18 (determined by age before August 1, 2025) who have completed minimum 8 hours of instruction, possess a Hunter's Safety Certification card, and demonstrate safe handling of firearms.
â What's the registration deadline?
Registration must be completed on ZSuites by November 21, 2025. Checks must be postmarked by the same date. Late registrations will not be accepted.
â Can I register for both Air Rifle and Air Pistol?
Yes! Youth can compete in both disciplines if they meet the age and eligibility requirements for each. Register separately for each event.
â What if I need accommodations?

â Will there be scholarships available?
Yes! Red Dirt Shooting Sports youth may be eligible for scholarship support covering registration fees and equipment. Contact info@reddirtshooting.com for more information.
â What should I bring to the event?
Bring your rifle or pistol, ammunition, safety equipment (eye and ear protection), and any personal items you may need. All equipment must meet 4-H safety standards.
â How are winners determined?
Winners are determined by highest scores in each age division and discipline (Air Rifle or Air Pistol). Both individual and team awards will be presented.
